Payroll and Benefits Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator.  This position assures that the effectiveness and integrity of the Company's payroll and Human Resources files are consistent with recognized professional and legal standards, and the mission and standards of the Company.  

Key Accountabilities include:

- Administering payroll and benefits processes in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
- Ensuring payroll and benefits administration is accurate, complete, timely and relevant.  This includes ensuring payroll data is entered, processed, verified and maintained within established financial systems;
- Analyzing data, preparing statements and reports, both routine and ad hoc;  
- Promoting Company interests consistent with approved policies, plans, the Collective Bargaining Agreement and professional, legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education related to Payroll Administration, Accounting, or Business Administration.

- 3 - 5 years experience in payroll administration, with experience in full-cycle payroll administration;

- CPA (Canadian Payroll Association) Designation would be a definite asset;
- Special accreditation and training in computerized payroll systems, management information systems, and Microsoft Office software would be considered an asset.

The successful applicants will:

-Design major projects according to current Doepker standards and provide recommendations for improvement;

-Educate staff in enhanced design and project management techniques using a combination of experience and direct interaction to further product and staff development;

-Participate in a team environment

 

Technical Education:

-Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering;

-Registered with APEGS or equivalent;

-Lean training is preferred

 

Experience:

-Mid-range Project Management experience;

-1-3 years Engineer experience with a minimum of 1 year Manufacturing background;

-Extensive 3D modelling, preferably using SolidWorks

 

Assets:

-Background in Welding, Mechanics, etc.;

-"Hands-on" hobbies (Wood Work, Mechanics, Blacksmithing)

Maintenance Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Coordinator for our manufacturing facilities in Saskatoon.  The position directs and schedules maintenance of all infrastructure including physical buildings, building systems, production equipment and tools.  The position is ultimately responsible to ensure the long term security, reliability and stability of Doepker Industries manufacturing processes.

 

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Plan and organize the maintenance and repair of all building systems and equipment;
  • Supervise, direct, train and evaluate maintenance technicians;
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program;
  • Coordination of supplies and services with external contractors;
  • Supporting the company’s Quality Management System processes and participating in LEAN process improvement initiatives;
  • Updating and developing departmental policies, procedures and performance indicators;

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Electrical and/or Industrial Mechanics Journeyperson status, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in building maintenance is required;
  • Five years supervisory experience in a business environment, with experience in the manufacturing sector a definite asset;
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or related field is considered an asset;Training and/or experience in LEAN methodology is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
