Purchasing Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Resources, the Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the management of the supply of material, engineering information and production information.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing supplier accounts through contract management, price maintenance, quality management, competitive pricing and performance evaluations;
  • Managing departmental policies, procedures, and performance indicators;
  • Managing inventory levels of purchased and manufactured parts;
  • Coordinating regular departmental integrity checks to ensure the appropriate quantities of material are present;
  • Leading the training and development of staff in the department;
  • Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers’ operations to examine and expand product knowledge, services & pricing;
  • Representing company externally by attending meetings, trade shows, conferences, conventions and seminars to network with other supply chain management professionals, suppliers and industry peers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field (Business Administration or Commerce) or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 3 - 5 years ’experience in a business environment required.  Further experience in supervisory or management role an asset;
  • A completion or enrolment in the Supply Chain Management Professional designation is an asset;
  • Experience or training in Lean Manufacturing is an asset.

Network Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a Network Administrator.  This position administers and maintains the company’s Microsoft Windows network, including the Exchange Service, SQL Server, Windows Terminal Services and Aptean Intuitive ERP.  The position will be based in Moose Jaw but will require ongoing periodic travel to our other manufacturing plants in Saskatoon and Annaheim. 

 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Providing first-line technical support to computer users experiencing hardware or software difficulties.
  • Establish, operate and maintain the use of the local, wide and virtual private networks (LAN, WAN and VPN).
  • Install, operate and maintain hardware, software and related computer equipment.
  • Set up and maintain internet and intranet Web sites and Web-server software.
  • Monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance.
  • Perform data backup and disaster recovery operations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma from an accredited educational program related to computer science, computer programming or network administration.
  • Training and/or experience in LEAN methodology.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in Web-page design would be an asset.
  • Experience with Windows Virtual Machines.
